Meet Our Team

Dean Privratsky, R.Ph.,  Pharmacist-In-Charge

My name is Dean Privratsky and I’m excited to have recently taken the position as Pharmacy Manager at Tony’s MediCenter Pharmacy. I lived in Oregon for many years but have recently moved back to Southern Illinois.  I was born in Dickinson, North Dakota but grew up in Albany, Oregon but am excited to be in the Midwest.

When I made the decision to become a pharmacist, I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I saw pharmacy as a long term profession with an ever expanding role in healthcare.  And it seems my intuition was correct about the role of pharmacy in healthcare.  I have been a pharmacist for 37 years, the most recent years spent in Oregon where I attended pharmacy school.  In Portland, Oregon, I managed three retail chains and was a preceptor for pharmacy school students.
I enjoy spending time with my wife, Peggy, our three daughters (2 of which live in Oregon and 1 in California), and our grandchildren. I’m an outdoorsmen, and enjoy landscaping and mountain biking.  Some of my other hobbies include reading and watching sports, particularly basketball and soccer. I’m enjoying the Midwest and plan to offer the best patient care possible to our pharmacy patients!

 Tony Esker, R.Ph.,  Pharmacist

I graduated from Saint Louis College of Pharmacy in 1982. After graduation I was certain I would work at a Hospital Pharmacy for the rest of my career. However, I got the opportunity to work at Orr Drugs in the Village of Steeleville, Il. The hospital setting offered innovative drugs and therapies, but I quickly found out retail pharmacy offers interaction with the patient. Two years after starting work at Orr Drugs, I purchased the pharmacy and owned it for 26 years.

When I decided to become a Pharmacist, I was a sophomore at Red Bud High School. I thought what a great job, good pay, candy, and comic books. But when I started to work I realized that what mattered most was that a pharmacist is able to affect someone's life for the better. My store also had candy and comic books.

My wife's name is Mary. Don't try to outwork her or out nice her, it can't be done. We have three children: Jennifer, Environmental Scientist, Janice, Doctor of Medicine, and Jason, Occupational therapist. I like all sports, golfing, swimming, biking, hiking, and if I had the knees anymore, basketball. Other hobbies of mine include woodworking, carving, puzzling, collecting comic books, and mowing grass.
